Four people have been shot at the Bridgeport Courthouse, according to police.
The shooting took place around 12:15 p.m., Monday, Jan. 27, at the courthouse on Golden Hill Street, said Rowena White, director of communication for the City of Bridgeport.
According to White, an assailant shot at individuals in a vehicle. Three of those injured ran from the vehicle into the courthouse for cover. The fourth person, the driver of the vehicle, was also hit.
All four individuals are in the care of medics at St. Vincent’s and Bridgeport Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, White said.
"This continues to be an active scene that is being processed," she added.
While this is an active scene, BPD reports there is no immediate threat at this time.
White said the victims were targeted and the event is not an active shooter situation.
Trumbull Police Department is assisting on scene at the hospitals.
All are asked to avoid the area at this time.
